"We Won't Rest Til We're Free"
A poem posted on the EDV Recovery Forum by 'Enough'

We are so much more than our bums
and our thighs.
We are so much more than our skin
and its lines.
We are more than the size on
the labels we wear.
We are more than the shade of our skin;
dark or fair.

We are more than our freckles,
our frizzies, our fuzz.
We are worth so much more than
the size of our busts.
We are endless, limitless, magic
and love.
We are beauty, mystery, power.
Enough.

We are more than the number that
shows on the scale.
We are more than the number of times
we have failed.
We are more than the smoothness or curl
of our hair.
We are more than all that;
So much more than all that.

We are so much more than the
size of our noses
We are so much more than all the still
framed poses
We are so much more than some dim man’s
accessory.
We have heart, we have soul,
and compassion, and empathy.

We are more than the colour and shape
of our nails.
We are more than the concealing coverage
of our veils.
We are so much more than the
width of our waists.
We are so much more than the looks
on our face.

We are so much more than
some stranger’s ideas-
Of what we should look like,
of their strange ideals.

In our frailty, we find strength
sweet sensuality buys us breath.
Our femininity paves the way
for a gentler world, day by day.

We are so much more than
the objects you see.
We’re amazing, we’re awesome.

We won’t rest til we’re free.

We are endless, limitless, magic
and love.
We are beauty, mystery, power.
Enough.
